EVENT: Sunseeker London host the launch evening for this year’s Couch Classic charity cycle in aid of Teens Unite Fighting Cancer

Last Wednesday, 19th April, Sunseeker London hosted the launch evening for this years Teens Unite Couch Classic charity cycle.

After the success of last year’s cycle in Mallorca, where 35 cyclists raised a over £60,000, this year’s charity cycle will take place through the enchanting towns and landscapes of the Tuscan countryside. The aim for this year is to bring together 50 cyclists for the charity cycle, with the target of going above and beyond what was raised last year.

This amazing charity cycle is in honor of Gerry Couch and the money raised will go towards helping young people battling cancer through Teens Unite Fighting Cancer. Teens Unite Fighting Cancer is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of young people aged 13-24, with cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Teens Unite’s main aim is to get teens together as often as possible in a fun-filled environment; giving them the chance to talk to each other and gain strength from realising that they are not alone in their battle. Teens Unite provides ongoing long term support for teens whether they are undergoing treatment or in remission. During the evening, Makayla gave a beautifully touching speech, sharing her experience of the great support she received from Teens Unite when she fell ill.

The Couch Classic cycle has been planned to take place in Tuscany over three days, from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th October. The intermediate cycle route is approximately 174.1 km whilst the advanced cycle route is approximately 253.9 km. Each day will bring a diversity of sites, from ancient monasteries to rolling vineyards. Cyclists will be staying at the stunning Borgo San Luigi, set in 20 acres offering incredible food, stunning accommodation and a beautiful pool to relax by after a hard day cycling. En route the cyclists will stop at some of Italy’s famous restaurants and local trattorias to sample the famous Italian cuisine.

The last day of cycling will stop en route and test the wines of Dievole
