This month Sunseeker London brings more suggestions for simply the best places to Eat, Sleep & Drink in the UK’s capital.
EAT: Four to Eight, 1-5 Catherine Street, London, WC2B 5JZ.
Four to Eight is a new contemporary Italian restaurant launched in Covent Garden in October 2014. It’s the realisation of a lifelong aspiration from two brothers, Gino and Leo Zambito.
Four to Eight offers freshly cooked Italian food, using quality produce and simple ingredients. The menu has been devised by head chef Chris Denney. Chris conceived a well-balanced menu which includes fish & seafood, meat, pasta and salads. Highlights include Beef Shin Ragu, Whole Spatchcock Baby Chicken, Risotto Aquarello, Zucchini Carpaccio and Cod Fregola plus a selection of grilled meats sourced from The Rare Breed Meat Company (Coggeshall, Essex).
Spread over two floors, Four to Eight has a contemporary and elegant interior designed by architect Ed Shinton from Atelier West. The ground floor is perfect for people watching being surrounded by large windows overlooking Catherine Street and Exeter Street.
With a fantastic selection of nearly 100 wines to choose from – 25 by the glass and a cocktail menu not to be missed – this is our favorite ‘Eat’ selection this month. A special ‘Pre-Theatre’ menu from 5pm-7.30pm and shows such as Mamma Mia, Charlie & The Chocolate factory and The Lion King close by ensures that this is a perfect pre-theatre spot.
To make your reservation at Four to Eight please telephone +44 (0) 207 240 0664 or email email@example.com.

DRINK: Mr Fogg’s, 15 Bruton Lane, Mayfair, London, W1J 6JD.
Modelled on the very Mayfair house in which Phileas Fogg would have lived after travelling Around the World in 80 Days, this popular bar is refined but at the same time truly off-the-wall, breathing liveliness and fun into the West End. Guests are able to encounter all the wonders of the world without setting foot outside of London. As a private man, Mr Fogg’s home is of course well hidden down a small side street off Berkeley Square thus maintaining an element of secrecy, much like The Inception Group’s bar, Barts, the first speakeasy to open in London in 2009.
On arrival, guests enter an immaculate hallway where Mr. Fogg’s trusty valet Passepartout is on hand to take guests’ coats, umbrellas and calling cards. To further add to the authenticity of the bar, a selection of staff are also dressed in specially designed, bespoke, old-fashioned Military style uniforms, created by the internationally renowned Gieves & Hawkes.
Our favourite area is the eccentric explorer’s period drawing room laden with artifacts and trinkets collected from his travels. The walls are adorned with everything from stuffed Indian tigers and crocodiles to ornaments collected through his worldwide voyage.
Mr Fogg’s provides an elegant global drinking adventure on each occasion. Rare and unusual products and ingredients will be sourced continually, from each continent, seeking to open up guests’ imaginations and palates to new and daring combinations. The menu is a unique interpretation of ‘Victorian Cocktailian Culture’, with many classics from that era being revived with a modern twist, such as: Absinthe Aperitifs, Gin Fizzes, Grog’s, Sazeracs, Stirrup Cups and Pouce Cafés. There are also sharing drinks straight out of the pages of Jules Verne’s novel, served in the form of globes, red indian’s heads, steam trains and antique punch bowls.
Founder and lifelong Fogg fan, Charlie Gilkes sums its up: “We’ve created Mr Fogg’s with a sense of history, adventure, fun and imagination. We hope to take you on a journey very soon – just don’t be late, we’re on a tight schedule!” Sunseeker London could not agree more! We are going back next month for their Saturday ‘the Duchess of Bedford’ Tipsy Tea at 3.01pm sharp…!
For further information on bookings and upcoming events at Mr Fogg’s please visit http://www.mr-foggs.com or telephone (by the London Exchange, of course) +44 (0) 20 7 036 0608.
