Whilst the 2014 UK summer season has drawn to a close, we are already looking ahead to 2015 for the new #SunseekerSeason… Opening again in April 2015, the popular and unique seasonal restaurant The Hut at Colewell Bay comes highly recommended by our team – particularly by boat!
Take the short trip from either Yarmouth or Lymington to Colewell Bay on the Isle of Wight. Upon anchoring you will be met by one of the restaurant’s tenders, before being taxied ashore. The interior of this restaurant is a quintessentially English ‘shabby-chic’ beach hut, with white washed walls and props to match.
On an English Spring or Summer’s evening, the only place you would want to be sitting is outside on the stunning terrace, which enjoys a relaxed yet stylish feel. With the waves breaking on the shore just a few feet away, The Hut’s unique positioning is its key selling point. Once the rosé is on ice, it’s time to take a look at the menu…
The Hut is passionate about serving high quality, seasonal and locally sourced food and for us it was the ‘Fruit de la Mer’ which caught our visitor’s attention. After watching the sun set over the bay, the tender will taxi you the short trip back to your boat, where you can enjoy the evening’s final sundowners. Once the waterside setting for 80s hit TV series Howard’s Way, this 100+ year old public house is located just a stone’s skim over the water from the Sunseeker Southampton office.
Accessible via its very own floating pontoon (check tides in advance as it does dry out at low tide), The Jolly Sailor is a wonderful place to take in the Upper Hamble river views over a pint of local ale. Should you have worked up an appetite from making the short trip across the river in your tender from Swanwick Marina, “The Jolly Sailor” serves some jolly good gastro pub food.
